Team OCD

Specialist OCD therapy, anywhere.

  • Research has shown that online therapy works as well as in person.
  • Exposures are easier to do at home than in an office, as the feared material can be accessed at home.
  • Therapy can be done from the comfort of your home, without a commute.

Why video can be an advantage for OCD

Exposures in the real setting

OCD is often tied to specific places: your bathroom taps, your front door, your child’s bedroom. On video, we can work right there rather than recreating it in an office.

No travel, no waiting room

For people with contamination fears or social anxiety, the journey to a clinic can be a barrier in itself. Starting from home removes it.

Specialists, wherever you happen to live

OCD expertise is unevenly spread. Online care lets you work with someone trained in ERP even if nobody nearby is.

Easier to keep going

Fewer cancelled sessions and less time lost means more consistent practice, and consistency is a big part of what makes ERP work.

Sessions might look like this

0–5 min

Check-in

How the week went, using a short symptom rating so we can track change over time.

5–15 min

Review practice

What you tried between sessions, what got in the way, what you noticed.

15–45 min

Exposure together

A planned step from your ladder, done live with your therapist coaching you through the urge to ritualise.

45–55 min

Plan the week

Agreeing two or three specific practice tasks and how to handle the hard moments.

What exposures can actually look like

Every plan is personal, but these composite examples give a sense of how ordinary rooms become places to practise.

Contamination example

Touching the contaminated object, then refraining from washing, while the therapist watches the urge rise and fall with you.

Checking example

Locking the front door once, walking away from the camera, and sitting with “what if it isn’t locked?” for the rest of the session.

What you’ll need

A laptop, tablet or phone

A larger screen helps, but any device with a camera works.

A steady connection

Standard home broadband or a good mobile signal is enough.

A private space

Somewhere you can speak freely. A parked car works for some people.

Headphones (optional)

Useful for privacy if you share your home.

Nothing to install

Sessions run on an encrypted, healthcare-grade video platform in your browser.

Your own time zone

Appointments are shown in your local time, with early and evening options.

A note on where we can work

Therapy is online, but professional licensing still follows the client. Rules about which clinician can see whom vary from place to place, so on your consultation call we confirm we’re able to work with you where you live. If we can’t, we’ll do our best to point you toward ERP-trained specialists who can.

Privacy and confidentiality

Sessions are never recorded. Video runs on an encrypted platform built for healthcare, and your records are kept confidential under the professional standards that govern therapy. We’ll explain the limits of confidentiality, such as serious safety concerns, before we start.
